After a long weekend birthing class (yup, DCTF Jr. is on the way!) Mrs. DCTF and I went out for dinner on Sunday night. We chose Ted’s Montana Grill, named for Ted Turner. On the T.V. was the Sunday night ESPN game featuring Ted Turner’s Atlanta Braves. It seemed appropriate.
As we were watching the Met’s [...]

I always seem to forget to put these things up after weekend series… so, in quick fashion: Jason Kubel gets the H.O.W. for Friday and Scott Baker’s gritty performance gets him Saturday’s H.O.W.
Season total: Mauer 9, Morneau 5, Blackburn 4, Crede 4, Kubel 4, Nathan 4, Cuddy 3, Gomez 2, Slowey 2, Span 2, Baker [...]

I [heart] the All Star Game. I don’t really have too many thoughts about this year’s particular game, just that I generally love it. It was awesome to see Mauer and Nathan come through, and Morneau got robbed of a double. A bit gritty for Nathan, but he didn’t disappoint. There’s not much better than [...]

Can I be indignant that Pujols made it into the swing off without actually hitting 5 home runs? I mean, that one caught by the kid wasn’t actually out…
Probably not, since Mauer wouldn’t have won the swing off anyway, what with his zero (0) total homers in that round. And Pujols is the [...]

Timely hitting from the best hitter in baseball won the game for the Twins on Friday night, so Joe Mauer gets that night’s H.O.W.
Go Go Gomez and his 5 RBI picked up the slack for Mauer on Sunday, making him the H.O.W. for that game.
Tonight, I watch the Home Run Derby. Here’s hoping for a good [...]

I’ll be honest, last night’s loss to the Yankees didn’t really hurt all that much for me.
The reason? Because I turned it off early and finally watched Wall-E for the first time. A much better use of my time.

Mrs. DCTF and I hosted her parents out here for the 4th of July. It’s hard to top D.C. for the 4th of July. Fireworks on the steps of the Lincoln… oooh ahhh indeed.
Of course, in order to get such primo seats I had to make my way to the Mall long before the end [...]

When Joe Nathan came in to nail down the game on Tuesday it was a tremendous relief for me. That kind of confidence is exactly what a fan likes to have. So Nathan gets the H.O.W.
And man do I love me some Mauer getting 3 hits, and stepping up big time during the one game [...]

Michael Cuddyer was so frustrated that he didn’t get an RBI in his first at bat that he subsequently went up and got himself one on Friday evening, for Friday’s Hero.
And Justin Morneau staked the Twins to a big 3 run lead yesterday with a much-needed home run. And for that he gets Sunday’s Hero.
Season [...]
